Perhaps a useful utility to edit .PS files: pstoedit.net. Not much else to say at the moment - Gran's very ill.

'To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, turning the whole Arab world against us and make a broken tyrant into a latter-day hero ... assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a securely entrenched dictator and condemning them to fight in what would be an un-winnable urban guerilla war. It could only plunge that part of the world into even greater instability.'

Is Elmo Bush's secret weapon? Honestly, you can't make stuff like this up. It must be true..... PS You can also get a poster where Elmo teaches kids how good Capitalism is. No, I'm serious....
The new MSN Music Club site has started. I think this is supposed to be a bit like Apple's service in the US. A permanent download of a track (i.e. that you can put on your own CDs) is about £1. This looks like a good price to me - small enough that you wouldn't notice it coming out of your account, but enough that the record company can pay for its recording. It might take off - it had better, as the music industry is sunk otherwise.
An interesting slant on Arnold Schwarzenegger's attempts to rule California. You might need to register to read it.
The Small World Project at Columbia University. An interesting project based on Stanley Milgram's groundbreaking work on social networks. Also, here's some info on the Ohio Small World Project. There is also an interesting article on the topic.

I'm sat here with Naomi, who's wondering what a Weblog is. 'Basically', I tell her, 'it's an online journal so that you can share your thoughts, links, pics etc. with anyone who's interested'.
For example, it could be used as a discussion site for people to get the latest information on products, support for software etc. Or it can be used collaboratively for work or school projects. Or it can just be so that you don't have to write mass-emails to let people know what you're up to while you're not in contact....
